A child genius

A young girl in Africa has started her dream: college.  She is just 14 years old and an orphan. She has lost her father when she was very young, and her mother a year or two ago. She lives with her brothers,  who can barley provide for her and themselves. She is a very bright, intelligent girl who knows how to work hard to get what she desires, such as her dream job as an accountant. She skipped from grade three to grade six, and  has finished in the top of her class in all of her classes. She has received. 10,000 dollar scholarship to the University of Zimbabwe.  Her brothers could barely afford the fee to take the entrance test into the university.  The University of Zimbabwe is the oldest college in Africa. She is the youngest student to ever enter any college in Africa.

Wow. That is all I can honestly say right now is wow. I can't believe a 14 year old girl in Africa is becoming the youngest student to ever enter college to become.and accountant.  Oh, I also want to say "You Go Girl!" Good for her! A poor, orphan that is achieving her dream goal/ job? What an accomplishment!  I just hope that everything works out for her and that she can keep up in college and get a job as an accountant.

Attack on Libya

There was an attack in Libya on the US Embassy, and as we all know that four US citizens died and one of them was the US ambassador (Chris Stevens). More information has been revealed that it was a small terrorist group that acted on behalf of a small American film that attacked the Islamic prophet. More information has been brought up that the attack was possibly planned and that between 20-80 people were involved in the attack. It also included that there was a wide variety of artillery that was present before the attack happened.

I personally think that this whole idea that the attack on the embassy was planned is true. It makes sense. The said in the article that the "movie" had been released for a year and that it just recently got translated. I believe it. If it had not of been planned, then how could they have all of that artillery there and ready to fire? It's just sad that the Libyans decided to fight with guns, rather than words. I support those Libyans who are arguing that not all of them took offense and that their actually reasonably ok with the film. They are just trying to tell the world that not all of the Libyans were involved in this and that it was not their fault. At least the non-violent Libyans are handling this whole situation a lot better than the ones who attacked the embassy. I just wish they would figure everything out and that this could all blow over, sooner rather than later.

Saving Lives

In the streets of Accra, Ghana, there are more than 60,000 children living on the streets. Many of them have left their life to try to find a job or because they decided to run away from home. Many if these children end up going into the human trafficking business or they end up still living on the streets, hardly alive. These children have to rummage through trash and the sewers just to find food. They sleep out in the open in every season, and constantly get sick. Many of these children have diseases such as malaria, rashes, various types of infections and headaches. There are many factors that lead children to the streets such as a sudden population growth in urban areas, and that they think they will make  better life in the streets, rather than stay at home and finish school. They government isn’t making any attempt to fix the problem.

It is very sad that these children think that going out to find work on the streets will get them a better job/life. They need to just stay home and listen to their parents. They know what is best for them. There are many reasons that these kids are sick. They get food out of dumps! How gross and invested that is. If they lived at home, they would have food and shelter. These kids are out sleeping on the streets and under bridges. I would feel terrible and like I am not worth anything if I was living on the streets by choice. It would be even worse if I got taken into the human trafficking business. I could end up in a whole other country! The sad thing in all of this is that the government isn’t doing a single thing about it. How could you not deal with 60,000 + children living on the street, where you walk every day?! This whole thing is just upsetting. Just think of the children! The children are our future! we need to help and protect them from EVERYTHING!

Us Ambassador--- DEAD

So, there was an attack on the Benghazi consulate. Who this happened to is the US Ambassador Chris Stevens. Along with Ambassador Stevens, three other Americans have died. It has not been said if any Libyans have died. How, you may ask? A fire. They (as in the Libyans) burned down the consulate in Benghazi.

Some key things that led to the US Ambassador's death are:

· The attack began after protesters began massing outside the consulate
· A small group of militants opened fire on the complex and gained entry
· The militants set fire to the main building with the U.S. ambassador still inside
· Control was regained more than four hours later

The main reason for all of this happening is a movie or video that mocks Muhammad the Prophet. A stupid YouTube movie. It apparently is a minor movie, which was produced by some asshole in our country, who decided that we need to mock another country’s religion. Then, he posted it on YouTube, and somewhere and somehow, someone else decided to translate it, and then it was spread all over Libya, and then this great, huge ordeal all happened and where left with 4 dead Americans, who deserved nothing of this, all because a selfish American. I personally think that the producer should be tried and found guilty of man-slaughter because he caused all of this to happen. Of course though, he probably won’t be found guilty, but at least we can try.

The fact that this all happen on 9/11, just makes it all worse. It’s all over the news around the world that this was a planned attack. Their saying that this movie came out a few days ago, and that the Libyans just decided to attack the US consulate. This is all just a theory. Another theory out there is that this is all a big coincidence. That just randomly that this movie was published a few days before 9/11 and that the attack happened on 9/11. My main thought is why? …Why? Why? Why? What kind of prick would want to make a movie that intentionally mocks another country’s religion? Does he have no sense of feelings? Did this man not think of any consequences that could happen?

But the main thing here is that the US Ambassador is dead, along with 3 other Americans. It is a tragedy that won’t be forgotten. Rest In Peace Ambassador Stevens.

Give It A Rest!

So, for my second post, I will write about the young girl in Pakistan who was accused and put in jail for burning pages of the Quran. Basically, a young girl named Rimsha Masih, who is mentally challenged, was arrested for allegedly burning pages of the Quran and was put in jail for three weeks. Doing any harm to the Quran will either get you put to death or a life sentence. Many Christians around the world and in Pakistan were very upset by this, and helped her get bail money. Rimsha was allowed bail, and she got out the next day. Rimsha was whisked away to an armored vehicle, then to a helicopter, which then took her to an unknown location. Many of her neighbors doubt she will ever return.  Most of the Christians in her neighborhood had left once she was arrested, because they feared they would be arrested also. They have now returned and wish the charges would just be dropped so they could forget about the whole thing, and the neighborhood could go back to normal.

This whole thing seems ridiculous to me. She’s how old? Like 11, I would assume. But come on! You have to give her the benefit of the doubt that she is mentally challenged. Now her and her mother can’t come home. Their probably scared for their lives now that this has gone world-wide. They probably won’t ever feel safe. There are nut jobs out there who will blow this whole thing out of proportion. I honestly feel sadden by this because she is just a little girl! She was trying to keep warm for god’s sake. She probably couldn’t even read.  This whole thing is already blown out of proportion, but at least she is now somewhere safe and can just forget about this whole thing hopefully.

Motherhood gone wrong?

I’m writing about an article that was written about a mother in India, who gave away her three children. The woman gave away her children basically because she couldn't feed them and she didn't want them to live in poverty, like she has for most of her life. The main reason she gave away her children is because she ran away from her husband, who allegedly was always drunk and beat her and the children. The suspected human trafficking, but if it was, they wouldn't of been able to find them and get back. She is now in a homeless center, along with her children who have been reunited with her.

I honestly can’t believe I’m saving this, but I understand why she did it. I mean, at least you loved them enough to want them to have a better life than what they have. She didn’t want them to starve to death, or live on the streets, which is a thing all mothers should not want for their kids, especially when their so young. The youngest was 4 years old and they oldest was 12 years old. I guess they apparently went to good homes; one of them was a friend of the mothers. One of the daughters even said she loved her new parents, but was glad to be back with her siblings and mother. What I don’t quite understand is why she didn’t go out and report her husband. Then, he would be in jail, and they would still be living in their home, near friend and family. Oh! Why didn’t she go stay at a friend or family member’s house? She just needs to work things out with her husband and move back home so they can properly raise her three children together. The good thing in all of this is that the children didn’t go into the human trafficking ring. That whole ordeal is a horrible thing.
