The Lost Crown

The book The Lost Crown is written by Sarah Miller.( www.SarahMillerBooks.com ) This book was published July 10th, 2012 by Atheneum Books for Young Readers This is a book about Russia's last emperor and his family and how they were over thrown. BUT, this story is told in 1st person, by all four daughters. There is no point of view from the only son, the Tsar himself, or the Tsarina.

One of the main reasons that Miller had written this book was because "There was never a Romanov novel that captured the history and the characters’ personalities accurately enough to satisfy me, so that’s what I set out to do." -Miller ( www.examiner.com) . In another interview, she stated that I seem to be attracted to the unheard voices in a story... these girls had their place in the world literally torn out from under them at an age when most of us are still trying to forge a sense of identity. For the grand duchesses, all of that vanished overnight." ( www.Frozentears.org

There truly is no other book out there like this. Miller really did her research. People have been thriving over Miller's books because they are so accurate and true. In one of the reviews, one women stated that " ... So when I found she'd written a book about Nicholas II's four daughters, I knew I had to read it. I bought it immediately, and it was certainly worth it." -Savanna ( www.GoodReads.com)  The author of the review also stated that when she "..encountered Ms. Miller's comments, it's clear that she knows *a lot* about the Romanov family."

Overall though, I really enjoyed this book. Miller is an fantastic author who really knows her stuff and how to properly do her research. Miller made me want to research more about the Romanov's and their personal lives. I spent hours looking into their lives, and everything I found, was exactly the same as Miller had written it.
