A Long Way Gone

I would use the question, Are people of the world more alike than different, or more different than alike? For the movie, Blood Diamond, and the book, A Long Way Gone. The question itself asks if people all over the world or similar or different. I think that people around the world are similar. Why? Because we are always fighting for one thing. Whether it's money, power, or even food, people are always fighting for it. From the movie Blood Diamond, people are more alike than different because they are fighting for the diamonds, power, and food. Such as, the rebels would go raid villages just for their food, then smuggle diamonds out of the country, and then the rebel leaders would gain power. These are all very similar to the book, A Long Way Gone, also. They want power, food, and death. In the book, the rebels would think that if they used death, they would gain the food they needed, which would then lead to more death, and then they would gain all the power they wanted when there were not as many people to control them. It is just a big continuous circle of war, food, and power in the book.
